How to enable the games for modding (same method applies to all of the games).

This is all I recommend for a first playthrough of Shadow of Chernobyl (copy pasting from my post here): STALKER threads pop up on GAF time to time when people get around to playing them which motivates others to get into it and the cycle continues. Also the setting is great, it's inspired me to visit Chernobyl myself which I've planned a trip for with a tour guide into the zone. There is a lot of what this series does very well, it's always had a cult following, you'll either *get it* or you won't (and it's fine if you don't), the atmosphere is fantastic, the open world design is good (it's a lot more *alive*, life goes on, things happen, you're also not some god or super powerful person where the world revolves around you). So stick with it if you don't *get* it in the very beginning. When you start going into labs etc and exploring that's when it gets real damn good. If you want that by all means.Īlso, even though I absolutely love SoC, the game in the beginning isn't that good, it doesn't give you a good indication of what this game is about. There's nothing wrong with the Complete mod but it makes the game easier in terms of how it changes the guns. I have played Stalker SoC and CoP multiple times, this what I recommend for a new player. All that's left is planning and execution. I think the comparison with Dark Souls is actually pretty good, both games are relatively easy once you're familiar with the enemies, levels and mechanics. If you can't handle that then I've got a message for you.

Headshot is the name of the game in Misery, everything else is a waste of ammo. Same goes for enemies, a lot of them wear armor, especially those in higher 'level' areas. Don't expect to stop a bullet with your trenchcoat, but an upgraded combat suit just might do the job. This goes for enemies as well as your character. Once that's done you can retreat a little and flank the enemy - I was actually surprised this was possible, until I've seen it with my own eyes I was convinced that enemies in STALKER have xray vision, but they don't, at least not in Misery.Ģ) Armor counts for something in Misery. This way you can quickly drop 3 or more enemies, more if you got range advantage.
